That passenger is just one of the 10 Hurricane Irma fatalities confirmed so far by the Cuban authorities. Three of those killed were people who had refused to evacuate, and died when their homes crumbled. Much of Cuba’s housing infrastructure is old and in urgent need of repair. The magnificent Caribbean Sea, the colorful Havana, where the time has basically stopped in the sixties and those warm and genuine people of Cuba made our vacation very special! We stayed at Varadero Beach, rented a bike and roamed the island in the search of the best beach. We hired a private driver with his pink, convertible Ford 1965 to take us and show us Havana! We took the catamaran to visit the Cayo Blanco Island enjoy the coral reef with its beautiful inhabitants. Everywhere we went there were music and friendly faces! We love Cuba! Visit it now, before it has changed its looks!

It has been designated by UNESCO as a city of world heritage. Visit www.caribbeandreamsmagazine.com for more information.

https://www.expedia.com/explore/caribbean/cuba.d44 It’s only 93 miles from Florida, and just 13 from the Bahamas, but like the smoke that coils from its legendary cigars, The Republic of Cuba exists in a time and space all its own. Few cities can stir the imagination like Cuba’s capital, Havana, a city preserved by forts, a five-mile seawall, and an imposed embargo, which held back the excesses of the 20th century for over 50 years. Havana’s lure can be hard to resist, but Cuba offers so much more beyond the seductive lights of its capital. In Cuba, a long sandy beach is never far away. Just 12 miles from Havana’s downtown, the Eastern Beaches unroll toward the town of Matanzas, the birthplace of the rumba, and Cárdenas, where the Cuban Flag flew for the very first time. From here, follow the scent of fresh lime, rum and suntan lotion north to Varadero. After exploring the northern coastline, turn south towards Cuba’s most revolutionary city, Santa Clara, and Trinidad, once the sugar capital of the world. Don’t miss elegant Cienfuegos, the only Cuban city founded by the French. Sometimes it’s hard to know whether Cuba is awakening to the world, or if the world is awakening to Cuba. Whatever your politics, it's easy to admire this island nation that has proudly gone its own way. Cuba may still have one foot firmly in the past, but as the world tumbles towards tomorrow, we can be thankful for the many things it has not let go.

For some more of my other work visit www.seriouslevity.com FB: https://www.facebook.com/slevity/?ref=bookmarks I went to Cuba for a few weeks to try out my new Mavic Pro. In the process I got detained in a Habana prison cell for three hours! Apparently bringing a drone into the country is illegal. Mine just happened to get through customs! Beautiful country, with marvellous people! Without a doubt the friendliest people in the world! They have officially taken the crown from Colombian!

Monday morning in central Havana, workmen were out trying to secure a damaged building. Over the weekend, a balcony collapsed, crashing onto a bus and killing one of the passengers. That passenger is just one of the 10 Hurricane Irma fatalities confirmed so far by the Cuban authorities. Three of those killed were people who had refused to evacuate, and died when their homes crumbled. Much of Cuba’s housing infrastructure is old and in urgent need of repair. CGTN's Michael Voss reports.

A vacation in Cuba, Havana and Varadero is really an amazing adventure! It is travel back in time! Back in the Sixties!

U.S. cruise company Royal Caribbean docks its first ever ship in Cuba on March 31, becoming the fourth American cruise operator to sail to the island after the two countries reestablished diplomatic relations in 2015. (Soundbite, English) Adam Goldstein, CEO of Royal Caribbean “The ships of our company visit almost 500 ports around the world, but there has been exactly one place where we have been wanting to go for 50 years, and that is Havana, Cuba. This really fills in an opportunity that we have wanted to provide to our guests for decades.” Although U.S. citizens are still officially banned from tourism in Cuba, they can visit the island through 12 categories which include people-to-people exchanges and cultural trips. (Soundbite, English) Bill Brown, U.S. Passenger “I think this is a great thing. Our opportunity to visit Cuba is overdue, and now we are able to travel here freely” According to the Ministry of Tourism, around 75,000 tourists arrived on cruises last year and more than 110,000 are expected in 2017. (Soundbite, English) Marcy St. Claire, U.S. Passenger “It was stunning coming through the harbor and seeing this beautiful city of Havana at sunrise. Very beautiful!” This year, Cuba saw more than one million visitors in the first three months and intends to reach 4.2 million tourists overall.

Support Us On Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/MysteryHistory We Are Also On Steemit: https://steemit.com/@mysteryhistory There are countless submerged, and very ancient cities, dotted across the oceans of our earth, many of these cities all but forgotten, until their rediscoveries within the modern era. When attempting to locate these mysterious places, it is beneficial for one to be aware of past sea levels, this, of course, can make the task of locating these submerged cities an awful lot easier. The main consensus is that world sea levels have largely stayed the same since the arrival of homo sapiens only really dipping or rising by around 120 metres across the Earth. When discussing these finds, you will on all but a few exceptions find yourself within these specific regions. One of the more interesting exceptions to this rule, has to be the underwater city which was discovered just off the coast of Cuba a few years ago, a submerged city which sits over 700 metres below the waves, this depth of course, being far below that which has experienced a breach over the past hundred or so thousand years. A theory that the land mass once rested upon the surface, subsequently being sunk by tectonic activities, was argued, yet since its exploration as a possibility, it has been found to have not been the case. It seems that these exploratory analysis of the site has achieved nothing other than to make the site even more perplexing, the results of this investigation, strongly indicating that this city, and its accompanying landmass, has somehow remained under the waves for more than a hundred thousand years. Grenville Draper of Florida’s International University, concluded that it was highly unlikely that such an tectonic event could have occurred: quoted as saying “Nothing of this magnitude has been reported ever before, especially from the Mediterranean” Drapers among many others analysis, has of course come to conclusions, conclusion which thankfully appear honest, making them extremely controversial, yet as with many other fields of study in life, they are reluctant to reveal the implications of such conclusions. For example, if the research is correct, and judging by the extremely capable people tasked with this undertaking, there is no reason to suspect it is not, then this submerged city has remained submerged for over a hundred thousand years, this gives us two possible alternatives, 1. That the city predates the arrival of developed man on earth, according to academically accepted time lines. Or, 2. It reinforces our ever growing accusations here at mystery history, of a past here on earth, which is unimaginably more ancient than we have been led to believe, a human society which has flourished and regressed on no less than 3 occasions. It could of course be both, there is a possibility that this ancient city was indeed built submerged under the waves by a once highly advanced civilization of homo sapiens,. Yet a more likely scenario, of course, would be that this ancient city was constructed at a time when the Caribbean sea was a dry basin, and as the sea began to form, it was subsequently submerged. Yet, alas, modern academia readily rejects such a hypothesis, so if we do not accept this as a likely possibility, then we must conclude that a primitive ancient culture, with primitive stone tools, and certainly no diving equipment, were somehow responsible for the construction of this submerged city, complete with enormous pyramids, on a foundation resting over 700 metres beneath the Caribbean sea. http://www.ancient-origins.net/ancient-places-americas/what-happened-sunken-city-cuba-001883/page/0/1
